Armin Pritzl of Bavaria, in 1999 - This picture caused a lot of curiosity as Armin was unable to remember just where this sign was as he' s a cross country cyclist and just happened upon the village. It's not on any map that I have and Noel decided to find it. Actually it's on "Google Earth". Many thanks to Noel Pritzl and family.
From e-mail of Noel Pritzl July 2006
"Then on to the village of Pritzl. Took over an hour looking for the side road to this village. Just one house and this large old farm building with the sign "Pritzl Wirt" or Gasthaus owned by Angelika Loher. The plaque above the door dedicated a wedding. No name of the party wed. The plaque reads: Jesus Christ watch over and protect this couple from now until death. Signed 18 Ursula Stolzl 56, indicating the year 1856. The current owner does not live here however as a hobby she opens the Gasthaus two days a week for business. We had the fortune to meet her and discuss the existence of this Pritzl name. She had no knowledge of how the name originated. No records have been kept. Maybe at the local County registrars office. Ownership and operation is her current hobby. She even decaled her British (GB) car to advertise her place. According to her there are no Pritzl's living in this area. Occasionally folks like us (Pritzl's) arrive and ask the same questions. This village is just off of Highway 20 (not on it). Drive east until you arrive at the last exit before entering Saltzberg, Austria. Clearly marked Regensberg Hwy 20. Drive north (Austrian boarder is on your right where a river separates the two countries) until you reach the town of Tittmoning. Just north of the town is a side road (Old B-20) that falls off to the right. They now call this exit sign "Hochster" . We drove by it three times. One just has to know where to go to find this hamlet of Pritzl.
Angelika Lohrer address is:
